How We Learn

27 04 2007

Here’s an interesting piece from one of the sites that I accidentally hopped into.

How We Learn

10% of what we READ

20% of what we HEAR

30% of what we SEE

50% of what we SEE and HEAR

70% of what is DISCUSSED with OTHERS

80% of what is EXPERIENCED PERSONALLY

95% of what we TEACH TO SOMEONE ELSE

William Glasser

I have a hard time accepting the 10% coming from reading but I have to agree with the 95% when teaching it to someone else. It’s not so much as repeating things (although that helps engrave stuffs into memory) but I believe, the learning part comes when your “students” post challenging questions forcing you to always continue learning.
