Overheard at Shang Mall

Translated for global appreciation
Cocky Man:Bossing, what floor is this?
Security Guard: 6th, sir
Cocky Man: Where’s the 5th floor?

My great writing kinda took the comedy out, but if you could just see the security guard trying to keep a straight face…

Back Again

24 09 2010

Wow! I did not realize how long it has been since I last wrote here.

I guess there was just too much stuff going around that I could not find the time to step back and write about how things have been doing.

There was mom’s medical condition, adjusting to married life, making career decisions and so much more.

I’m not sure if I can keep this up but, hey, it’s worth a try.

Here’s the first series:

Decommissioning my Friendster blog…

6 10 2008

Recently, Friendster upgraded their blog service to use the WordPress platform. I guess this was one of their efforts to win back users who have since gone off to other networks in search for better functionality and more user-friendly user interfaces.

Unfortunately, this only made it easier for me to export my files out of their system and into my WordPress account on https://ryansalvanera.wordpress.com

So now, I am officially decommissioning my first-ever blog…

Are You a Secure Lover?

24 07 2007

I had nothing better to do so I decided to take another one of those Tickle tests: Are You a Secure Lover?

Ryan, you have a Secure relationship attachment style.

You tend to be an open and trusting romantic partner. You find it relatively easy to get close to people, and are generally comfortable depending on others.

Attachment style begins in infancy with the interactions we have with our parents or primary caregivers. Through these early relationships we begin to understand the dynamics and patterns of close relationships and we carry this perspective into our adult relationships.

10% of those who have taken our test share this style of attachment.

When you choose a romantic partner you tend to gravitate towards those who have what psychologists call a secure attachment style. These are people who are warm, open and trusting. People who have a secure attachment style are typically comfortable with themselves and show a high regard for others.

Your answers on our test show that when it comes to relationships you have grown beyond your earliest attachment issues. While you may not have every issue resolved, you’re making substantial progress at establishing healthy relationship patterns.
