Done with Week 2

23 12 2010

Wohoo! I just finished Week 2 of the Push-up challenge including the progress test… and it has certainly NOT been easy.

Obviously, it is tough for me physically. Try doing 250+ lbs (my current body weight) bench presses and you’ll know what I’m talking about 🙂 The good thing about  the programme though was that it was designed to allow participants to work through their own phase.

Progress tests allow you to see where you are at physically, and follow a path that suits your level. This ensures that you are at a safe level (avoiding injuries and whatnots from overfatigue) and motivated. Forcing you to follow a strict programme (no. of reps) will definitely lower your morale if you are unable to reach them.

Apart from the physical challenge, the more difficult challenge lies within one’s self. Discipline and the determination to finish what I started comes into play here. Many a nights, I wanted to just plop down on the bed and snore away. Thankfully, I was able to suck it up and now, was able to get this far.

I know I’m not even half-way there… but I’m just so glad that I was able to breeze through the first two weeks. I just hope I am able to keep my focus on the goal.

PDL journey delayed

9 04 2008

image Unfortunately, I was not able to start with my PDL journey today. (Sorry, accountability partner Nicky.) I had thought I had my book boxed up somewhere but apparently, I was wrong =p

Luckily for me, my teammate Lei has a copy so I asked her if I could borrow it for awhile. She was not really into the book so she gladly let me borrowed it.

Anyway, I guess I will start my starting over tomorrow.

I know, I know… the image is so geeky! :p

Proud Uncle #1

The reason for the number is that I have so many things to share about my nephews and nieces. They are such a talented, smart bunch and one post will simply not be enough.

Here are some poems that Jamie wrote:

My Perfect Family
By Teresa Jamie GunawanWithout you… (For my Dad)The sun shines,
     The flowers bloom,
Only if you are with me.

Wherever you are, wherever I am,
You will still be with me,
                     Side by side.

Without you I can’t think straight,
     My mind is a blur,
But when you are with me,
                                     Suddenly everything turns clear.

I love you Dad so very much,
     You always help me out,
Always trying to make me smile,
You make each day seem so worth while.

A part of me (For my Mum)

Mum, you are a part of me,
With out you I am not complete.

You know what I’m about to say,
You know everything that’s going on.

You know when to talk to me,
You know when to leave me alone.

You are definitely the best Mum,
     Perfect in every single way.

If we were ever separated,
     I wouldn’t last a day.

You work hard, cooking breakfast, dinner and lunch,
So I want to say, Mum, I love you so very much…

Even though… (For Koko John and Jonathan)

Even though we fight and yell,
There’s something important I have to tell,

Thank you so much for putting up with me,
If I were you, I would run and flee,

But you didn’t complain, not a single sound,
Then I realised how lucky I am to have you around,

Even though we don’t really get along,
I look up to you because you never do wrong,

You are the one I turn to when I need some advice,
You’re caring, kind, and so very nice.
